Virginia Tusen Obituary

BRIDGEWATER Virginia D. (Buck) Tusen, of Bridgewater, died peacefully, at Life Care Center of Raynham, Oct. 12. She was age 90. Virginia was born in Somerville, and due to the Depression of the 1930s, lived in New Hampshire and then Canada. She graduated from a high school in New Brunswick. Virginia moved back to Bos-ton in the late 1930s, where she met her husband Walter J. Tusen. Walter and Virginia spent most of the married life in Mattapan before moving to Bridgewater over 25 years ago. Virginia worked as an assembly woman for Goodrich Tire in Watertown from the late 1950s into the 1970s. Later, she worked Marine Optical of Easton. Virginia was passionate about her beloved Red Sox and bingo. Virginia was the loving wife of the Walter J. Tusen; devoted mother of Carol Ann and her husband Drew S. Kavanaugh of Bridgewater and the late Walter Sonny J. Tusen; proud grandmother of Andrew J. Kavanaugh of Bridgewater; sister of the late Walter H. Buck and the late Paul Buck. A funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 17, at 10 a.m. at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater. Interment at Mount Prospect Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Virginias memory may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Ave., floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633.
