Lorraine Amado-Teixeira Obituary

Lorraine A. Amado-Teixeira BROCKTON Lorraine A. Ma (Almeida) Amado-Teixeira, 68 years, of Brockton, died unexpectedly Oct. 25, 2008, at her home. She was the wife of the late Raymond L. Amado. Born, raised and educated in Bridgewater, daughter of the late Frank M. and Anna P. (Andrade) Almeida, she had been a resident of Brockton for the last 49 years. Lorraine had been employed as a barmaid at Kennys Bar for many years, and for over 20 years, by PharMerica, Inc. Lorraine was a caring person who loved spending time with others, enjoyed Foxwoods, bingo, dancing and time spent at the Mater Dei Center. She is survived by two daughters, Jennifer A. (Teixeira) Rodriquez and Sonya L. Teixeira, both of Brockton; one son, Anthony D. Teixeira and his wife Beverly of New Hampshire; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Vicincia S. Vinnie Andrade and her husband George of Middleboro, Julia A. July Santos and her husband Carl Sr. of Carver and Lydia J. Cross and her husband Arthur III of St. Augustine, Fla.; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her former husband, Joseph M. Teixeira. She was the sister of the late Manuel F., Pauline, Frank M. Jr. and Nicholas G. Almeida and Mary P. Gomes. Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Thursday at 8 a.m. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish/St. Colman Church at 9 a.m. Burial in Mayflower Cemetery, Duxbury. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Donations in Lorraines name may be made to the Mater Dei Adult Health Program, 250 Thatcher St., Brockton, MA 02302.
