Mary Reardon Obituary

Mary Reardon EASTON Mary (Correia) Reardon, of North Easton, whose career as a public school teacher spanned over 20 years, died Oct. 26, 2008, at Baypointe Nursing Home, in Brockton. She was 80 years old. She was born in North Easton, in 1928, to Joseph and Sarah (Nolan) Correia. A 1946 graduate of Oliver Ames High School, she graduated from Bridgewater State College in 1950. She taught briefly in the Stoughton public schools, and after raising her family, she resumed teaching at the North Easton Grammar School for many years. She married her high school sweetheart, John J. Reardon, in 1951, and they recently marked their 57th wedding anniversary. A lifelong resident of North Easton, she was a member of the Easton Garden Club, the Daughters of Isabella and enjoyed a monthly retired teacher's luncheon group since her retirement in 1988. She also enjoyed organizing high school and college reunions over the years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Thomas Reardon and his wife Suzanne of Essex Junction, Vt., Virginia Angelo and her husband Steven of Falmouth and Joseph Reardon and his wife Karen of Mansfield. She was predeceased by her son, Sean Reardon, who died in 1992. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Erin, Nolan, Olivia, Shaina and John; and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Anna McGorty, Joseph Correia and Virginia Pinto. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Kane Funeral Home, 605 Washington St. (Rte. 138), Easton. A memorial Mass will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, in North Easton. A private burial service will be held at theMassachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Massachusetts Alzheimers Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472, or Old Colony Hospice, One Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368. Mary was a wonderful person who shared her swing set and juice and cookies with my three children. We always had a great time visiting Mary. She will be missed greatly by her neighbors, the Partridge family.
