Ellen C. Blenis

STUARTS DRAFT, Va. Ellen Cecelia (Barbara) Blenis, age 86, of Stuarts Draft, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville. She was the wife of the late George W. Blenis, who preceded her in death in October 2004. Ellen was born Feb. 23, 1922, in Rockland, Mass., a daughter of the late Alfred J. and Eva M. Benoit and the youngest of 10 children. Mrs. Blenis was a dedicated homemaker for the majority of her life. Prior to her retirement to Virginia in 1986, Mrs. Blenis and her husband George, re-sided in Everett, Wash., and Whitman, Mass. Mrs. Blenis is survived by her daughter, Mariellen B. Tilden of North Carolina; two sons, Barry G. Blenis of New York and Gary M. Blenis of Massachusetts; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Richard and Michael Tilden, Taryn Blenis Eisnor, Jillian and Ryan Blenis, Danielle Hall; as well as five great-grandchildren, Alexa Tilden, Destiny, David and Dakota Hall and Chase Eisnor. She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth W. Blenis, in August of 1998. A funeral Mass will be held for Mrs. Blenis at Holy Family Church, 403 Union St., Rockland, Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at 9 a.m. Burial will immediately follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
