Carmella Derito Obituary

BROCKTON Carmella M. (Dodero) DeRito, of Brockton, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late James V. DeRito. Born and raised in Brockton, Carmella was a daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Froio) Dodero and remained a lifelong resident of the city. For many years, she had been a stitcher at London Clothing in Brockton and enjoyed flower gardening at her home. She was most proud of her grandsons and great-granddaughters and cherished her time spent with them. She was the mother of Jim DeRito and his wife Noreen of Bridgewater and the late Lucille Smith. She is survived by two grandsons James Smith and his wife Lisa of East Bridgewater and Scott DeRito and his wife Brenda of Brockton; two great-granddaughters, Nichol Smith and Payton DeRito. She was the sister of Teresa Grebauski and Rose Lombardi, both of Brockton, and the late Pat Dodero, Jim Dodero and Louise Anania. She also leaves a son-in-law, Fran Smith of Middleboro; and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with a funeral service at 12:30. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
