Thomas Burbine Obituary

WHITMAN Thomas E. Burbine, 87, of Whitman, died Oct. 29, in Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital, after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Mary E. (Bowden) Burbine. Thomas was born and raised in Whitman, son of the late Henry and Selina (Brine) Burbine. He was a lifetime resident of Whitman and a graduate of Whitman High School. He served in the U.S. Army, during World War II, from 1942-1945. Thomas was a Union master plumber for Plumbers and Pipefitters Local No. 51, also the plumbing inspector in Whit-man, for many years. He was a member of the Whitman VFW, Whitman Knights of Columbus and Abington American Legion. He enjoyed being around his family. He is survived by his two sons, Paul Burbine and his wife Susan of East Bridgewater and David Burbine and his wife Paula of Florida; his brother, Lawrence Burbine of Bourne; also four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was also predeceased by many other brothers and sisters. His services will be held Nov. 1, at 8:15 a.m., from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary), Whitman, followed by a funeral Mass, at 9 a.m., in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Interment will follow in the St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 31, from 4-8 p.m. Donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
