Barbara Hennegan Obituary

Barbara M. Hennegan BROCKTON Barbara Marie (Conroy) Hennegan, 69, of Brockton and South Dennis, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at Tufts New England Medical Center, in Boston, after a courageous battle with heart disease complications. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Hennegan. Born Jan. 31, 1939, in Quincy, she was a daughter of the late Stephen L. Conroy and Verna M. (Coughlan) Conroy. Raised in Quincy, she was a graduate of Quincy High School. Barbara was devoted to her family and her home. She immensely enjoyed spending time with her family and was known as the family historian. Barbara enjoyed spending time at her other home in South Dennis, where she enjoyed the beach. She enjoyed going to concerts, computer games, crosswords and traveling to Aruba. She was active in the Girl Scouts of America, where she was a Girl Scout leader and she was also a active communicant of the former St. Nicholas Church. She is survived by her children, Kimberlee M. Hennegan of Brockton and Stephen E. Hennegan of Bridgewater; her brother, Stephen L. Conroy Jr. of Harwich; her uncle, Ron Coughlan; her aunt, Helen Minerva. She is also survived by one niece, one nephew, two great-nephews and one great-niece and several cousins. She was the grandmother of the late Olivia Grace Hennegan. Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Friday, at 8 a.m., thence to St. Edith Stein Parish/St. Edward Church, 71 East Main St., Brockton, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul, at 9 a.m. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours Thursday 5-8 p.m. Donations in Barbaras name may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Kim and Stephen
