Joanne Bickford Obituary

MIDDLEBORO Joanne D. (Parker) Bickford, age 72 years, of Middleboro, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, surrounded by her family, at Sachem Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, East Bridgewater, after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of Ross C. Bickford Sr., they had been married for 52 years. Born in Laconia, N.H., Jan. 21, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Albina Louise (Lacasse) Parker. She had been a longtime resident of Middleboro and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Middleboro. She will be warm-heartedly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will always be remembered as a caring and loving person and she was an avid animal lover. Survivors include her husband, Ross, of 52 years; three sons, Ross C. Bickford Jr., Michael S. Bickford, both of Colorado, Troy J. Bickford of Middleboro; three daughters, Karen L. Smith of Brewer, Maine, Linda-Jean and her husband Harold Taylor of Carver and Robin L. and her husband Scott Martin of Virginia; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family will receive family and friends at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St., Middleboro, Saturday, Nov. 29, from 2-4 p.m., with a celebration of her life to begin at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701, would be greatly appreciated.
