Robert Dunham Obituary

Robert F. Dunham PLYMOUTH Robert F. Dunham, passed away at home, Nov. 26, 2008, with his daughter Judy and son Steven by his bedside, in Plymouth, at the age of 91. Born in Plymouth, Aug. 1, 1917, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Alma (Larkin) Dunham. Predeceased by his wife, Lois Holmes Dunham, they were married for 69 years. Robert was a graduate of Plymouth High School and started work as a baker, working for his father in his Plymouth Bakery on Market Street. He drove a bus for P&B for 15 years and then returned to baking at his own bakery, Plymouth Baking Co., for another 10 years, until Urban Renewal took it. He managed the A&W Root Beer stand for two years and then was a supervisor at Arnold Trailer for eight years. Prior to his retirement in 1987, he worked for Dunkin Donuts in Kingston for six years. He is survived by his son, Richard and wife Loretta of Flagler Beach, Fla.; his daughter, Judith Fortinin and her husband Norman of Plymouth; and his son, Steven and his wife Maureen of Plymouth. He had five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren, who he loved very much. He was the brother of the late Esther Mercer, Mabel Boutin and Ernest Dunham. A funeral will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St. (Rte. 3A), North Plymouth, Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date in Vine Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Cranberry Area Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360.
