Doris Cashman Obituary

Doris L. Cashman Whitman Doris L. (Cole) Cashman, 89, a longtime resident of Whitman, died Friday in South Shore Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Rockland after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Bernard F. Cashman; mother of Richard A. Cashman of Whitman, David Cashman of Montana, Janet E. Roache of Florida and the late Paul B. Cashman; sister of Frances Bradshaw of Pembroke. She was also the grandmother of 10; and great-grandmother of 15; many nieces and nephews. Born in Brockton, she was a daughter of the late David and Lillian (Gummow) Cole. Doris attended Whitman schools, a graduate of Whitman High School. She was a member of the United Congregational Church of Whitman. She was a bookkeeper for the United Shoe Machinery Co. in Whitman for many years. Doris loved to travel, especially to Florida, an avid Red Sox fan, she enjoyed reading, being with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held Monday, Nov. 5, at 8 p.m. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Inc., Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle), Whitman. Burial will be at a later date. Visiting hours Monday, Nov. 5, 6-8 p.m. Donations may be made in her name to the Hospice Services of Massachusetts , 577 Main St., Wareham, MA 02571. www.blanchardfc.com.
