Robert T. Burns Taunton Robert T. Burns, in Taunton, Nov. 13, 2007, died after a lengthy illness at Golden Living Wedgemere Center in Taunton, at the age of 74. Robert was a son of the late Terrance and Margaret (Grady) Burns. He was a resident of Taunton all his life and resided on Tremont Street in Taunton and Salty Harbor, Fla. Robert was born in Taunton and educated in Taunton schools, graduate of Taunton High School, Class of 1953. Robert worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for the Division of Motorboats, then moved to the Environmental Police, served for 30 years and retried as a lieutenant. Robert was a U.S. Army veteran and belonged to the Knights of Columbus, V.F.W. Post 611 in Taunton, American Legion Post 121 in Berkley and the P.A.C.C. in Taunton. Robert leaves his children, Kathleen Burns of Taunton, Linda Garcia and her husband John of East Taunton, Elizabeth Menzies of Taunton and her late husband Barry, Michael Burns of Taunton, Steven Burns of Taunton and Christopher Burns and his wife Erica of Taunton; grandfather of Nicholas Menzies of Taunton, Jonathan Garcia and Katharine Garcia, both of East Taunton and Evan C. Burns of Taunton; his companion, Constance Dubois of Taunton and Florida; brother of Terralynn Sullivan of East Taunton and the late Maureen Colton; also uncle of several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held at the OKeefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., in Taunton, Friday, Nov. 16, at 10 a.m. A funeral Mass will be held the St. Marys Church in Taunton at 11 a.m. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
