Ronald Russell Obituary

Ronald Russell Holbrook Ronald "Ron" Russell, of Holbrook, formerly of Stoughton, after a brief illness, Nov. 29, 2007. Beloved husband of Janet L. (Lavery) Russell; loving father of Debra Lyons of Manomet, Jennifer Dyer of Middleboro, Wendy Chambers of West Bridgewater, Amy Chambers of Brockton, William D. Lyons of North Plymouth and the late Ronald P. Russell II; devoted brother of Patricia Allen of Quincy, Elizabeth Ruth Smith of Weymouth, Jane King of Florida, the late Edward Russell, Jacquelyn Lange, Gerard Russell, Patrick "Joe" Russell, Frances Irene Murray and Shirley Morganella. Also survived by many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 69 South Franklin St., Holbrook, until 8:15 a.m. Monday followed by a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Holbrook. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Mr. Russell died at the age of 71 in Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. He was born in Boston and grew up in Roxbury. He had lived in Holbrook for more than 30 years and prior to that he had lived in Stoughton. He was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran and a proud member and PER of the Randolph Lodge of Elks No. 2130. Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Central New England Region, 1115 West Chestnut St., Brockton, MA 02301.
