Joseph Giglio Obituary

EASTON Joseph M. Giglio, 76, of Easton, formerly of Quincy and Wareham, died Friday morning at Southeast Rehabilitationand Skilled Care Center in Easton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Jean (Arienti) Giglio for 56 years. Born in Quincy on May 3, 1932, a son of the late Charles and Michelina (Tedesco) Giglio, he was raised in Quincy and was a graduate of Quincy High School. A veteran of the US Navy he served in the Navy Sea Bees. Joseph was employed as a mason and was a member of the Allied Brick Layers and Masons Union Local 52. He was also the former owner and proprietor of J & B Oil Company in Quincy. He lived in Quincy for 27 years, later moving to Wareham and eventually settling in Easton. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and was an avid fisherman who enjoyed gardening. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Richard A. Giglio of Wareham and Stephen L. Giglio of Hanover; six grandchildren, Michael, Justin, Alex, Benjamin, Gabrielle, and Madeleine; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Anthony Giglio, Salvatore Giglio, and Mary Christie. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral from the Kane Funeral Home, 605 Washington Street, (Rte. 138) Easton, on Monday, July 14, at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church (Rte.106) Mansfield, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Josephs memory may be sent to Lighthouse Hospice, 166 Main Street, Wareham, MA. 02571 or to Joslin Diabetes Center, Grateful Patient Program, One Joslin Place, Suite 745, Boston, MA. 02215. Mr. Giglio,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the U.S. Naval Construction Battalions during the Cold War. Millions of Americans slept safe at night because you and your fellow servicemen stood ready to defend our Country. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
