Richard Crafts Obituary

Scituate Richard "Dick" Woods Crafts, longtime Scituate resident Crafts died on July 11, 2008. Dick was born in Portland, Maine, on June 16, 1927, to Grace Wood Crafts and Leslie Chapman Crafts. He moved to Scituate with his parents in 1944, where he first met his future wife, Nancy Wyman. After graduating from Boston University, Dick served in the Navy. Nancy and Dick married in 1950, and built their home on the marsh in 1953. Dick's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, on and around the water. Dick is survived by his loving wife Nancy; his daughter Cathy, her husband John Allen, and their sons Griffin and Daniel Allen of Brattleboro Vermont; his son Gregory, his wife Nancy Roach, and their children Katie and Andy Crafts of Hood River, Oregon; and his daughter Debby, her husband Mark Mahoney, and their sons Thomas and Alex Mahoney of Melrose, MA. A private family service is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice, or to: Colorectal Cancer Coalition, 1225 King St., 2nd Floor, Alexandria, VA 22314.
