Thelma Badger Obituary

South Windsor Thelma B. Badger, 90, of South Windsor, beloved wife of the late Frederick Badger, died Sunday, July 27, 2008 at her home at the Village at Buckland Court. She was born September 12, 1917 in Granby, Quebec, Canada, daughter of the late Fred S. and Bernice (Palmer) Bassett, and came to this country as a young girl. She was raised in Dover, NH and had lived in Syracuse, NY and over fifty years in Manchester before moving to South Windsor. She was an active member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Manchester. Mrs. Badger is survived by three sons, A. Bruce Badger and his wife Jennifer of Mt. Vernon, MD. Timothy J. Badger and his wife Lenae of Scituate, MA., Robert M. Badger and his wife Anne, of Palm Coast, FL, two daughters, Katherine A. Cutter of Bristol, Patricia A. Herdic and her husband Robert of Manchester, 13 grandchildren 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins in Quebec, Canada. She was predeceased by a brother and three sisters. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Village at Buckland Court for the loving care shown to Thelma during her residence there. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church, 40 Pitkin St., Manchester. Burial will be in the East Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Watkins Funeral Home, 142 East Center St., Manchester has care of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Concordia Lutheran Church Building Appeal Fund, 40 Pitkin St., Manchester, CT 06040.

To the family, I am sharing in your loss. Thelma, a very Special Lady will surely be missed by everyone at the Village.Her love for her Family,as well as animals,her birds,and the dogs that visit us. I was lucky to have a few minutes with Thelma on Friday after lunch,She shared with me Her nursing while in the service. WE laughed,She shruged,and said She learned alot there.
