Raymond Johnson Obituary

Abington Raymond O. Johnson, Sr., of Abington, formerly, of Ocala FL and Holbrook, August 4, 2008 at the age of 85. Husband of the late Barbara J. (Good) Johnson. Loving father of Sharon Johnson and Bonnie Fitzpatrick both of Holbrook, Raymond Johnson Jr. of Dover NH and Gretchen Johnson of Birmingham, AL. Brother of the late Karl Johnson, Paul Johnson and Robert Johnson. Also survived by 6 grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service Friday at 10 a.m. in the Winthrop Congregational Church, Holbrook. Burial will be private in VA National Cemetery, Bourne. Arrangements under the direction of Cartwright Funeral Home, 69 So. Franklin Street, Holbrook, MA 02343. Raymond was born in Bound Brook, New Jersey. He was a retired Engineer for United Engineers and Constructors of Boston. US Navy WWII Veteran. He served on the USS Borie a Naval Destroyer. He was a survivor of the last Japanese Kamikaze attack on the USS Borie shortly before the end of the war. Member of the VFW in Ocala FL. Member of the Winthrop Congregational Church, Holbrook. Mr. Johnson,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the USN fighting the Japanese in the Pacific during WW II as a "Tin Can Sailor" aboard the destroyer USS Borie(DD 704). And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
