No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. My deepest condolences are with you as you grieve.

On Sunday August 17, a man I knew moved on from this life we now share without him, I called that man my father. His life will be remembered by those who knew him as full of unusual adventures, especially during the 60's and 70's when we were all growing up. There were good times and bad times-as there are in many families, but I like to remember the times that we can all get a good laugh out of today. The Christmas when he brought home a thirty foot tall Christmas tree for our front hallway, the summer he helped fill in for my Boy Scout leader and ended up winning a sharp-shooting contest at the Scout camp! (Who knew he could shoot?). He helped start me off on my love for reading, he drove my brothers to youth hockey during the early 70's when the only time of day you could get rink access was 3am on a Friday night (thank God I didn't have to do that!), and there was the unforgettable night we all learned how to say “Air Canada”!
I must also mention my father’s love of the spoken word; I mean this man could TALK. LisaMarie remembers listening to him for about an hour one night waiting for Maura to get ready to go out...she now knows more about the sport of Curling than any graduate of Quincy High.
I guess the best way to say goodbye is a little blessing that his father, my grandfather told me when I was about 5 years old: “May you be in Heaven a full Three days before the devil knows you're dead!"
