William Ryan Obituary

MIDDLEBORO William G. Ryan, 64, of Middleboro, formerly of Weymouth and Bridgewater MA, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2008 in his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 39 years, Maeve H. (Curry) Ryan and their children Bridie K. (Ryan) Concannon and her husband, Martin, of Bridgewater, William Ryan and his wife, Wendy, of Marshfield, and Tracey M. (Ryan) Dyment and her husband, Matthew, of Norwell; his brother John V. Ryan and his wife, Joyce, of Hingham; his sister Mary Adams of San Jose, CA, and his 5 adoring grandsons. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was the son of the late Helen (McClain) Ryan and John Ryan of Weymouth and nephew of the late Dennis Ryan, former Clerk of Courts. Bill served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam conflict and was a member of the Marine Corps League. He worked as a firefighter for the City of Quincy for 31 years, retiring in 2004, and was a member of the International Association of Firefighters. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday the 3rd from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy, MA. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday the 4th at 10:30 a.m. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy, MA. Donations in Bill's memory may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, www.dana-farber.com. Mr. Ryan,
Sir, as a fellow Marine I would just like to say thank you for your years of dedicated service and sacrifice-first for our Country when you served in the USMC during the Vietnam War and secondly for the citizens of Quincy when you served with the QFD.
