Edna B. Janes

HALIFAX Edna B. Janes, of Halifax, died on September 19, 2008. She was 82 years old. Edna attended Brockton High School, Brockton Business School, and the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing. Edna was a Nurse in the emergency room of Brockton Hospital, and then became the nursing instructor for the operating room. She continued to work at the hospital in the operating room until he r retirement. Edna was very active within her church. She loved to sing in the Bryantville Methodist choir. She helped to organize religious retreats for both teens and adults, and was also a longtime supporter of the Christian Childrens Fund. She leaves many longtime friends from within her church. Sister of Naida and her husband Robert LaRosa of Carver and Florida, and the late Edith P. Martin. Edna also leaves many nieces, nephews, and longtime friends. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, September 23 at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St (Rt. 14) Pembroke from 4-8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 24 at 10:00 AM at the Bryantville Methodist Church, 546 Mattakeesett St., Pembroke. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bryantville Methodist Church, 546 Mattakeesett St., Pembroke, MA 02359.
