Dorothy McGee Obituary

QUINCY Dorothy P. McGee, of Quincy died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 2, 2008. Beloved sister of the late Edward "Ted" McGee and Marien Barthel. Loving aunt of Peter Barthel, Paula Foley, Stephen Barthel, David Barthel, Joseph McGee, Maureen Rooney, Elizabeth Montaro and Patricia Welch. Very dear friend of Raymond Smith. Also lovingly survived by 16 grand-nieces and grand-nephews and many great grand-nieces and great grand-nephews. Dorothy was employed by the Relief Printing Co. in Boston as a bookkeeper for 35 years before retiring in 1985. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross for many years and was a member of St. Ann's Senior Citizens. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Life Celebration Service in Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann's Church, Wollaston at 10:00 a.m. Visiting hours Monday, 4-8 a.m. Burial in Saint Mary's Cemetery - Scituate. Donations in memory of Dorothy may be made to A.L.S., Lou Gehrig's Disease, 7 Lincoln St., Wakefield, MA 01880; The American Heart Assn., 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.; or to the American Red Cross, 285 Columbus Ave., Boston, MA 02116. I remember Dot fondly from the 50's and 60's in Wollaston. My prayers and condolences are with Teddy and the Barthels in this time of grief.
