Florence Jacobs Obituary

QUINCY Florence M. (Kruse), 84, of Quincy died Monday, October 6, 2008 at Quincy Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of 54 years to the late Robert D. Jacobs, who died August 23, 2005. Born in Boston on January 1, 1924, she was one of three children born to the late Carl Markus Magnus & Hattie Marilla (Williams) Kruse. She was raised in Dorchester and Jamaica Plain, a was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School. She moved to Quincy in 1972. An active member of Covenant Congregational Church for more than 30 years, Mrs. Jacobs is a member of the Naomi Society there, and is a former member of the Church Choir. She is warmly remembered as a reliable volunteer for many church functions and activities over the years. Loving mother of David W. Vanderheld of N. Hampton, Carl F. Jacobs and his wife Donna of Brockton and Susan R. Goodale and her husband Peter of Randolph. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren. Sister of the late Carl M. M. Kruse, Jr. and Eleanor M. Kruse. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend her funeral on Thursday at 10:00 A.M. in the Covenant Congregational Church, 315 Whitwell St. Quincy. Interment will follow at Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. at the Hamel, Wickens & Troupe Funeral Home, 26 Adams St. Quincy Center.
