Robert J. Blake MILTON Robert J. Blake, (Retired Fire Chief, M.F.D.), age 82, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 4. A lifelong resident of Milton, he was a graduate of Milton High School, Class of 1944 and Bryant & Stratton Business School. Bob played football, basketball, and baseball for Milton High School and the Milton Merchants Athletic Assn. Bob joined the Milton Fire Dept. in 1949 where he served for 40 years, retiring in 1989 as Fire Chief. For many years he served as the President of the Milton Firefighters Union, Local #1116, before being elected as the State Legislative Representative for the MA Firefighters Assn. Chief Blake was a member of the MA Fire Chiefs Assn., the American Legion Milton Post #114 and the Pocasset Golf Club. He was a WW II Navy Veteran. The beloved husband of Dorothy M. (Courtney) Blake of Milton, he is also survived by his devoted daughters; Maureen C. Brennan & her husband, John of Needham and Donna M. Daly & her husband, Lt. Jim Daly (M.F.D.) of Milton, his loving grandchildren, Bob & Kevin Brennan and Jim & Jennifer Daly and his sister Barbara Swart of Canton. He was the brother of the late Mary Tacey & James Blake. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agatha Church, Milton, Thursday at 10:30 AM. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Wednesday 4 to 8 PM.
