To the Bires & Mahoney families. Jim and I were so saddened to hear of Tara's passing. We lived upstairs from Danny & Alma on Bedford St. in Quincy. I use to babysit Gayle, Tara & Karen many years ago and have fond memories of some great times with Alma, Dan and the whole Mahoney clan. I know she must have been a great Mom because she had a great Mom herself to learn from. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Tara is so terribly missed. She was a very passionate woman. Whether cooking up a storm for friends and relatives or just sitting/standing watching her boys play ball. Her love of music (Sinatra), arts (Renoir), Marilyn, Sophia.... Her enthusiasm will be greatly missed, but most of all her smile, laughter, straight-forwardness, insight, always happy -to see-you. You are whole now with our Loving God and Father. A perpetual Summer Wind...Love and Kisses, Joy and Peace~~~ Beth-Ann

Dear John, Anthony, Domenic and Joe,
My name is Heather Kelley Carr. I grew up with your mom in Braintree; she lived next door to us. Tara was warm and kind and fun and sweet. She had a gorgeous smile.
She was older than me, but always made me feel important. She always made sure I was included even though I was younger. Growing up, Tara was my sister Seana's closest friend. She remained her friend for over 30 years. During that time, I would see her at different events. Her warmth and kindness always shined through. I will never forget her. I am thinking of you all and am praying for you all. We will all miss Tara's shining smile and beautiful spirit. Heather Kelley Carr

John, Anthony, Dominic and Joey,

We are so sorry for the loss of Tara. We have so many good memories of her making holiday meals, parties on the beach and always making every occassion special. She loved you boys so much and loved staying home and taking care of you. I remember her coming over when I was making a sauce in within minuetes taking it from ok to something you would get at a fine restaurant. She was the best cook I ever knew. We are so sorry she was not feeling well these last few years and though she fought hard to get well her body was just to weak. We will never forget her and if you ever need anything we are always there for you. You come from a wonderful family and you will always have a lot of love. We know it is hard right now,

Johnny, Anthony, Dom and Joey - We are very sorry to hear about Tara. She was just a really good person and she loved her family so much. She was so very proud of her boys. It is so hard to understand why things like this happen, but I guess we have to take comfort in knowing that she is not suffering any longer. I have some great memories and for that I am grateful. May she rest in eternal peace.........

To Benchie, Anthony, Domenic and little Joey. I am so sorry your mom is gone. I will miss her at our Memorial Day cookouts in Attleboro or my visits to see her on weekends. There was always something going on at the house, whether it was a game or practice to go to, a sleepover, getting ready to go out with the girls or your dad watching the football game on Sundays getting upset on a bad play. She knew how to put out a good spread for celebrations with the Italian dishes and decorations for the holidays. She was always in the spirit of things. She loved you guys very much. I’ll always remember Tara and think of the good times we had going as far back as Hull during Christmas at Robin’s family’s Hall, to going out in a limo for a birthday celebration or just hanging out on a Saturday afternoon. I feel sorry I didn’t spend much time with her towards the end but it didn’t mean I wasn’t thinking about her. If there’s anything you need, please don’t hesitate to call me or Bean. We’ll be thinking about you.....God bless you and take care.

We'll never forget you Tara......

We are so so so sad for you. I can't even believe Tara is gone. You are all so good to each other, close and caring. Whenever I see any of you, I usually see you all together... being there for each other and supporting each other. You have something most families don't ever achieve.

I know you will have lots of support from family and friends at this time and in the future, but please reach out to us if you need ANYTHING! You are going through a hard enough time without worrying about rides, events and day to day concerns. Please reach out and ask for anything and we will be thinking about you all the time with the most heart felt caring thoughts. PLEASE let us know what we can do to help at any time!

Dear John, Anthony, Domenic and Joe
I am so sorry to hear about Tara and my prayers and thoughts are with you all. She is with God now, as I really feel that, and also your Mom welcomed her with open arms and so to her Dad. I know how you feel as it wasn't that long ago Mom passed and I know she is with Daddy, (Uncle George). They too are with her, she is not alone and is loved. Keep your chin up all of you, you have to have faith believe me, it gets me through all of the sorrow and pain of these years. Sorry I cannot be there but I will have a Mass said for her as soon as possible. God is with you even though you might not think so right now, but He is, and He is all around all of you!

God Bless!

DEAR BIRES AND MAHONEY FAMILY AND FRIENDS,
SO SORRY TO HEAR OF TARA'S PASSING. WE' RE SO LUCKY TO HAVE HAD HER IN OUR LIVES, SHE HAS LEFT US WITH LOTS OF GREAT HAPPY MEMORIES.
MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU ALL AT THIS SAD TIME.

Jean Houlihan

October 7, 2008

God looked around his garden and saw an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth and saw your sister tired face.
He put his arms around her and lifted her to rest.
Gods garden must be beautiful he always take the best.
He knew she was suffering, He knew she was in pain, He knew that she would never get well on earth again.
He saw that the road was getting rough, the hills were harder to climb.
So he closed her weary eyelids and whispered "peace be with thine"
It broke our hearts to loose her, but she didn't go alone, for part of all of us went with her the day god took her home.
So very sorry for your loss
Jean (Kelly) Houlihan
