I've had the privelage of knowing Allan for only a few years but the lessons he has taught me will stay with me for the rest of my life. His sense of humor will be greatly missed. I remember one instance where we were out at a restaurant and the waiter asked "what can I get for you?" and with that great smile and soft raspy voice, Allan replied "$500,000 in small bills would be great." We all laughed and I remember trying to pull off that same line a few weeks later at a restaurant and I couldn't pull it off because I lacked that "Allan" persona. You will be greatly missed my friend. "You're a warrior!"

Dear Gloria and Family,
I was saddened to hear of Allan’s death. You know that I admired him greatly and appreciated his wise counsel and good humor. To this day, I cannot get on a flight on a clear day without hearing his words: “Its commander’s flying weather.” I have always taken that to mean that the rest of us have to fly even when the skies are rough or dark. Please know that my thoughts are with you.
Fondly,
Rebecca Spencer

Allan Fischer was a man's man; an avid hunter, pilot and a mean banjo player! Over 20 years ago, I met Allan through my executive transportation buisness. I would often drive Allan to the airport and we would discuss all manor of issues. He was always a solid sounding board. Eventually, I met his loving and lovely wife Gloria and one day on the way to the airport they told me about this unique church they were attending and after 18 years; North River Community Church has been a tremendous blessing in my life. NRCC would not be what it is today without Allan's drive and determination; his efforts will echo into eternity. Often when people pass away there is an uneasiness as to whether or not they "Knew the Lord". In Allan's case there can be no doubt whatsoever that he is basking in the presence of the Lord and will be setting up a base camp in Paradise. He will be the Angel holding the banjo in God's heavenly choir with that trademark big smile that lit up many a room. God Bless you my friend, it has been a privilege and a pleasure to know you.
