Dr. Tombari took care of my chronically ill son and daughter until they were 19 years old. My daughter had severe asthma and was often in the ER in the middle of the night. Dr. Tombari insisted that I phone him at home every time. At midnight or 3 am, he would show up sleepy and cheery.... Having never felt pain in his life, my son developed cluster migraines in 5th grade. Always he felt relief and security when his heard the Doctor's confident voice. I am so grateful for getting me through the kids' exposure to spinal menigitis when a child in the daycare died. Always brilliantly knowledgeable and infinitely patient...we have lost a great man.

I was so sad to hear about Dr. Tombari when I brought my son to Derry Pediatrics today. Dr. Tombari and my son shared a love of Boy Scouts and would often talk about it when my son saw him. I just, this morning, learned of Dr. Tombari's passing. I wanted his family, and Derry Pediatrics to know how sorry I am for your loss. Dr. Tombari has been so wonderful with both of our boys, for the last 13 years. He handled so many situations graciously, and with an ever present twinkle in his eye. We always looked forward to seeing what cool tie he would be wearing. Reading the previous posts made me realize how very many lives he touched. What a great lesson for all of us.

Dr. Tombari was our (three) children's doctor for 15 years. We recently learned of his passing away and wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed having him as our pediatrician. He was patient, caring and understanding especially with our autistic daughter who was always a handful at her visits. Please accept our sincere condolences. Dr. T was a great man. Dr. Tombari was my pediatrician and I have fond memories of him. My 8 1/2 year old son, Eric, has been seeing him since birth and he thought it was so cool that his doctor used to be my doctor when I was a child. Dr. Tombari was a very caring and knowledgeable doctor and he was always there when we needed him. It was a great comfort knowing that I had his wisdom to turn to while raising my son. I left Derry Pediatrics at age 18 due to being pregnant. Since then he has been taking care of my son & daughter, & we always use to joke about how hw took care of me at that age. Dear Tombari Family, I was saddened to hear of the passing of Dr Tombari. He has always been held in high regards in my family. Twenty nine years ago as a young doctor in town, along with Dr Rudiselli, they saved the life of my 11 month old daughter. Dr. Tombari was my son's pedi. Dr. and my wife and I loved him from the day we met him on a recommendation from a friend, whose child also saw him. He was a great DR. and you could tell had a passion for his trade and really cared for his patients. We found out when my wife went to book an annual checkup for our son. My wife called me immediately and I could tell in her voice she was emotional, as was I when she told me the news. HE WILL BE MISSED!! I am sure by many including my wife, myself and our son Jeffrey. We are shocked and saddened by Dr. Tombari's death. He was the reason I joined Derry Pediatrics eleven years ago on the day my first son was born and he was present at my last child's birth. Our children are still patients at Derry Peds, but it will not be the same with Dr. Tombari gone. I worked for many years, 1980-1990, with Bill at Parkland Medical Center. I always respected him and was very at ease with his care of the baby's in the nursery. He is a good person, a good doctor, and I am sure he will be missed by many! My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Dr. Tombari was one of my children's favorite Pediatricians. We always had a pleasant experience when we saw him. He was friendly and professional and always spent as much time as we needed answering our questions. He will be greatly missed by all. My condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.

To Sandy and family: We wish to tell you how sorry we are about Bill's death. We met Bill after getting one of our Great Danes from him and Sandy.He was the BEST dog we've ever had. Our first contact with Bill was when we called VERY late on the night that we picked "Coach" up from the airport.He was unfailingly gracious.That was in 1994 and since then,we relished our brief visits with both of you. He was a GOOD man.We will miss him.

My condolences to your family and Derry Pediatrics. I worked with Bill at Derry Pediatrics for 6 1/2 years after completing residency. Easily approachable, his advice was always helpful and practical. I still use it today and think of him. I am a better physician for knowing Bill. He was a down to earth gentleman. Godspeed Bill.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family for your great loss. I had 2 sons who grew up under the care of Dr. Tombari. My younger son was still his patient at 16 yrs. of age. Altogether we saw Dr. Tombari over the course of 23 yrs! This is a huge loss to me & my boys! I am completely shocked & greatly saddened. We will miss him dearly. He was always so cheerful and calming during the office visits. We all were completely confident in him & respected him. His passing is an enormous loss to the community. My prayers go out especially to the family, and to all who will miss him (which I know are many!)

Hello to the Tombari Family. My deepest sympathies are with you for the loss of your Billy. My dad's name was also William Tombari (warmly known as Billy), and he also passed away at a relatively young age (57) after a short battle with cancer. It has been almost 6 years since his passing. My parents also have a love for and own a Great Dane. I was feeling nostalgic at Christmas and googled my dad's name and came across your Billy Tombari and your family's loss. I thought the commonalities between our Billy Tombaris were interesting, and that I would share them. William Tombari is a name reserved for great individuals (my grandfather and brother are also both William Tombaris). I can relate to your loss, and my sympathies are with you.

My heart was saddened today upon hearing about Dr. Tombari's passing. What a wonderful man and doctor. We have been coming to the practice for 16 years. He has give words of wisdom encouragement. God has surely used this man for great things. I can not imagine the lives he has touched or changed. May we all strive to be such a person. My God comfort the family and the staff at Derry Peds.

My family is so sorry about the loss of Dr. Tombari. He truly was a wonderful doctor. He is the only doctor that my son has seen in the last 12 years and he really did take an interest in his patients well being. Your family has our deepest sympathies.

My family and are very sorry to hear about Dr. Tombari. We are saddened that we missed the services for him. Dr. Tombari was a caring and giving person who we were priveleged to have as a pediatrician for almost ten years. My daughter, Isabel always requested him and once gave him a tap on his bottom as she entered the examination room. Dr. Tombari will be missed by the thousands of lives he has touched, but he will never be forgotten. Our deepest condolences for your family at this most difficult time.

I was shocked to hear about the Passing of Doctor Tombari. He will truly be missed by The Gawrys Family. We have 6 children who go to Derry Pediactrics and he has seen all 6 at one time or another. What I loved most about him was his love for the kids and he also would support us by answering questions when needed. Ihave talked to him many times in the middle of the night with our children. You knew he cared and wanted to be there. My prayers go out to his family and most of all Derry Pediatrics. We just heard about the passing of Dr. Tombari, we are so sorry for your loss. We have been bringing our children to Derry Pediatrics for the past 12 years. Our children have seen and been cared for by Dr. Tombari more times than we could count. He will be missed by us. A friend of mine from Mass informed me of Billy's death. I am so very sorry for your loss. It has been many years since we have seen any of you, but you have been in our thoughts many times. We were very close as children - when they lived on Edgemont (?) Road, Weymouth. As I said - many years ago. Our deepest sympathies to you all. Much too young to be taken away, but obviously the Lord has bigger plans for him.

Dr. Tombari was our childrens' pediatrician for fifteen years. During that time, we came to know a man who was caring, cheerful, funny and committed to his patients, our children.
We all felt he was not only a trusted professional, but a friend.
The sudden loss of someone so young and apparently healthy, is difficult to bear. We share your grief. In a very real way, Dr. Tombari cannot leave us. His family, immediate and extended, is huge. It's the legacy of a man who made a difference.
