John Green Obituary

ROCKLAND John "Doc" Cole Green, of Rockland, formerly of Jamaica Plain and Cambridge on October 1, 2008. Loving husband of Kathryn Vincentia (Burke). Beloved son of the late Robert Herald Green and Clare Elizabeth (Cole). Decorated veteran who served as a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy and with the Marines in the Fleet Marine Force during the Vietnam War. Participated in Operation Deep Freeze 66, USS ATKA (AGB-3), Antarctic Operations. Completed undergraduate studies at UMASS, Amherst Campus, completed graduate work at UCONN, Storrs Campus and particpated in the Continuing Education Program at Harvard Medical School. Lengthy illness resulted in premature retirement from a career in Forensic Psychology. Life member DAV, Life Member Vietnam Veterans of America, former member Marine Corps League, American Polar Society and Old Antarctic Explorers Assoc. A private memorial service is being planned. Arrangements by Mann & Rodgers Funeral Home, Jamaica Plain.

Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served as a Navy Corpsmen with the USMC in Vietnam. God knows how men are alive today because you were there to save them. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
