Mary White Obituary

Mary G. White SWAMPSCOTT Mary G. (McDonald) White, 87, of Swampscott, died Friday at the NSMC Salem Hospital after a short illness. She was the wife of the late John P. White, who died in 2002. She was born in Salem on December 17, 1920, the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Mary G. (OConnell) Mc Donald and graduated from St. Marys Girls High School in Salem in the class of 1937. She had resided in Swampscott for the past 45 years. Mary was a Sales Associate with the former Jordan Marsh Company in Peabody for over forty years. She had been an active member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Swampscott, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and as a volunteer with the CCD program. She also enjoyed traveling to Ireland, Italy and Eastern Europe. She is survived by her two sons, John White and his wife, Kathryn of Weymouth and Philip White and his partner, Christopher Lawrence, both of Quincy, her two grandchildren, Sean and Bridget White of Weymouth, a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas H. and Phyllis Mc Donald of Peabody, and many special nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. from the Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, Humphrey St., Swampscott at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Swampscott Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, and Danvers, MA 01923 in her memory.
