Edith Corey Obituary

NORTH QUINCY Edith N. Corey of N. Quincy, died at home on October 9th, 2008 age 91. Wife of the late Charles Corey. Born in Medford, she was a lifelong resident of Quincy and part of the first graduating class at North Quincy High School. She had worked for John Hancock in Boston, where she met her husband. Later on she went to work at the Quincy City Hall election department for 30 years, retiring 6 years ago. Past member of Wollaston Yacht Club and volunteer at the Cherry Shop, Quincy Hospital. Edith was an avid Red Sox Fan. Aunt of Diane Rogers of Weymouth, Jill Benitez, Edith Ann Key and David Zuckerman, all of CA, P. Benjamin Zuckerman of FL and the late Russell Brierley. Also survived by many great-nieces and nephews. Dear close friend of Mae and Russ DAngelo. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Ocober 16 at 11 a.m. at the Deware Funeral Home, 576 Hancock St., WOLLASTON. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MSPCA, 350 S. Huntington Ave., Jamaica Plain, MA 02130 and/or the charity of ones choice.
