James Denneen Obituary

James E. Denneen SCITUATE on October 12, 2008, age 64. Devoted husband of 37 years of Marie (Oram). Jim was born and raised in Quincy. He graduated from Archbishop Williams High School in 1962, Northeastern University with a BSBA in 1968, and an MBA from Suffolk University in 1974. Jim worked for Northrop Corp. in Norwood for 26 years as a Contract Administrator and at Information Spectrum in Bedford for 6 years. Jim served his state and country with the Massachusetts Army National Guard. He was a 30 year member of the Knights of Columbus, the last 6 years as a 4th Degree Knight, a member of Scituate American Legion Post 144 and served on the St. Patricks Day Parade Committee in Scituate for many years. He was an avid WWII buff, enjoyed vegetable gardening and his fall hunting trips to Maine. Loving father of Kathleen M. Denneen of Scituate and Patricia M. Denneen of Quincy. Brother of Joseph M. Denneen, Sr. and his wife Gloria of Walpole, the late John F. Denneen, Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Weymouth and the late Francis R. Denneen, Sr. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral will be from the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd., Scituate on Thursday, October 16th at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Marys of the Nativity Church, Scituate at 10:00 a.m., burial to follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Scituate. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jims name may be made to Foyer of Charity, 74 Hollett St., Scituate, MA 02066. Visit www.mem.com for online memorial. Bev and I are so sorry to hear about Jim's passing. We both remember the times we spent with you and the girls and Jim as very happy times. I also really enjoyed touching base with him at the Retirement lunches in Norwood. He was alwas a very respected employee of Northrop and had that easy going attitude with everyone. Our prayers to you and the girls. He will be missed by us.
