Ernest Carlson Obituary

PEMBROKE Ernest J. Carson Sr. died October 15, 2008 at the South Shore Hospital after a brief illness. He was 94 years old. He was born and raised in South Boston and had lived in Weymouth for 50 years before moving to Pembroke 6 years ago. Ernest was a retired self employed carpenter. He was a Navy Veteran W.W.II and late member of the George Bean Post American Legion in South Weymouth. He also was an avid model train collector. Beloved husband of the late Patricia E. (Fennell) Carson. Father of Michael Carson of Quincy, James and his wife Sue Carson of CT, George and his wife Sue Carson of Stoughton, Wayne and his wife Denise of IN, Ernest Jr. and his wife Beverly Carson of Easton, Patricia and her husband Vic Haavisto of Halifax, Cheryl and her husband Jack Nolet of Pembroke and Florence Carson of CA. Also survived by many grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Funeral Prayer Service in the South Weymouth McDonald Funeral Home, 809 Main St., (Rt.18 opp. South Shore Hospital), Friday at 9:00 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 P.M. Donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN, 38105. Mr. Carlson,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USN during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Ernie Carson was a real craftsman who took pride in his work. He was a gentleman and one of the nicest people I have ever known. He and Pat raised a great family and he was very proud of all of you.
