Ascanio Rossi SCITUATE Ascanio Michael (Mike) Rossi, of Scituate, October 11, 2008. One month shy of his 82nd birthday. Loving husband of the late Margaret (Peg) Rossi. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Sally Jean Rossi-Ormon of Scituate; a son, Alexander Rossi of OR; a stepdaughter Wendellyn Burger of CA; and a stepson, Mark Ralston of CA. He leaves two brothers, Joseph of CN and Alexander of TN; three sisters, Serafina Magni of Newton, Regina Cillizza and Johanna Lanteri of CN; four grandchildren, Christoph, Elsa, Erika and Paul Michael; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Dr. Rossi was a prominent leader and mentor in the field of psychology, holding professorships at Harvard Medical School, Boston University Medical School, Southeastern MA University, and the University of CA, SF. He was Chief Psychologist at Boston City Hospital and San Francisco General Hospital, and a founder of the MA School of Professional Psychology. He was very active in professional associations, serving President of the MA Psychological Assoc., Ethics Chair of the Northern CA Psychological Assoc, a fellow of the American Psychological Assoc., and a diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology. Best remembered as a man of intelligence and a champion of the common man, Mike enjoyed intelligent debate, a well-tended garden, and a good glass of red wine at the end of the day. Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to a charity of ones choice. A private memorial will be held at a future date.
