Antonio G. Chiocchio

QUINCY Antonio G. Tony Chiocchio, 74 years old, of Quincy, died Friday, October 17, 2008 at the Veterans Administration Hospital of West Roxbury after a long illness. Mr. Chiocchio was born in Cocullo, Province of Abruzzi, Italy. He immigrated to the United States when he was four years old. He was raised and educated in Quincy, and he graduated from Quincy High School, Class of 1951. He was a lifelong Quincy resident. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked as an electrician at the former Fore River Shipyard in Quincy, and then worked for Stone and Webster as an electrical designer for many years. He retired many years ago, and after retiring he worked as a mechanic at the Waltham Post Office. Mr. Chiocchio belonged to the Braintree DAV, the Quincy Sons of Italy, the Cyril P. Morrisette Post, and the Adams Heights Mens Club. Beloved husband for 52 years of Elaine S. (Hollis) Chiocchio. Devoted father of Joanne M. Jennings of Mashpee, Susan E. Stetkis and her husband Arthur of East Taunton, Anthony J. Tony Chiocchio and his wife Alice of Quincy, and Michael D. Chiocchio and his wife Susan of Plymouth. Loving grandfather of Kristin Jennings, Megan and Rachel Stetkis, James and Erin Chiocchio, and Tyler Chiocchio. Brother of the late Guy Chiocchio and the late Rose Marie Sansevero. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Tuesday, October 21st at 9:15AM. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School St., Quincy at 10 oclock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours Monday 4-8PM. Interment Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
