Rose M. Monti

Rose M. Monti ROCKLAND Rose M. (Umbrianna) Monti, 99 of Weymouth, formerly of Rockland died at the Southwood at Norwell Nursing Center surrounded by her family on October 21, 2008. She was born in Rockland, daughter of the late Angelo and Mary (Geloran) Umbrianna and was raised and educated there. She worked for many years as a waitress at local restaurants and as a clerk at Bradlees. She was the owner of Georges Restaurant in Rockland center in the early 1950s. She enjoyed crocheting, traveling and playing cards. Rose was an avid Red sox fan and loved to winter in Florida. She was the mother of Caroline M. Krukiel and her husband John and Patricia L. Gabardi and her late husband Robert, all of Rockland. Mary was the sister of the late Mary Ann Sestito, Patrick, Vincent, George, Michael, Antonio, John and Joseph Umbrianna. Also surviving her are 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held from the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St., ROCKLAND on Friday October 24, 2008 at 8:15 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow in Holy Family Church. Burial will be in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. Calling hours will be on Thursday October 23, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. Donations may be made to the Mass.
