Robert Foster Obituary

HANOVER Mr. Robert Lee Foster Sr., 82 of Hanover died surrounded by his family at home on Thursday, October 23, 2008 after a long illness. The son of the late Donald and Vivian (Wedholm) Foster, he was born in Arlington on November 20, 1925. Mr. Foster served in the Navy during WWII and was later employed as a Purchasing Agent at L. Antonelli Iron Works in Quincy. He was a long time member and Past President of the Viking Club, enjoyed vacationing with family, playing cribbage and gardening. Husband of the late Lucy M. (LaVoie) Foster, he is survived by 2 sons, Robert Foster Jr. of NH and Paul Foster of Hanover, 1 daughter, Jeanne Marie Barron and her husband, Thomas of Hanson and 3 grandchildren, Tyler, Patrick and Zachery Barron. He was the brother of the late Donald Foster. Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 9 a.m. in St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover St,. Rte 139 in Hanover. Interment in Hanover Center Cemetery. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., Rte. 53 in HANOVER on Monday from 4-8 p.m. with a Viking service at 7 p.m. Donations in his memory may be made to the Hospice of the South Shore, 100 Baystate Dr., Braintree MA 02185 or to the Viking Club Scholarship Fund, 410 Quincy Ave, Braintree MA 02184. Mr. Foster,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USN during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
