John Walsh Obituary

John P. Walsh LAKEVILLE John P. Jack Walsh age 78 years passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on Saturday at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford. He was the husband of 45 years of Terri (Doyle) Walsh of Lakeville. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Patrick J. and Barbara (Connolly) Walsh. Jack worked for the former New England Telephone, Co. for many years from which he retired. He was a proud member of the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed gardening, U.S. History and was a member of the Good Times Club through the Middleboro COA. Jack was a true family man and loved the times spent at family gatherings. In addition to his wife he is survived by his four children, Kathleen M. Litchfield and husband Douglas of East Freetown, Maureen Dolbeare and husband Robert of Lakeville, Patrick Walsh and wife Ann of Quincy and Terri Walsh of Lakeville, ten grandchildren, a sister, Mary Kelly and a brother James Walsh both of Quincy. As well as several nieces and nephews. A sister, Barbara Shea and a brother Joseph Walsh preceded him in death. Visitation will by on Tuesday from 4-8 pm in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St., (Rt. 18) Lakeville, MA. Funeral Service will be on Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St. (Rt. 18) Lakeville, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Sts. Martha & Mary Parish, 354 Bedford St. (Rt. 18) Lakeville. Burial with Military Honors will follow the service in the Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree, MA. Mr. Walsh,
Sir, as a fellow Marine I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USMC during the Korean War and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Dear Mrs. Walsh, Terri, Jamie, Kelsey and all of your family. We are so sorry for your loss. Mr.Walsh was a great neighbor and we will miss seeing him on Panettieri Drive. I always enjoyed stopping to talk to him as I was going by. Our thoughts are with you. I am so sorry that we missed the services as well. I kept checking the paper, but was not looking in the Patriot Ledger.
