Arthur Johnson Obituary

EDGARTOWN Arthur K. Johnson 77, retired Lieutenant Quincy Dept., of Edgartown formerly of Quincy and Meredith, NH. passed away at Falmouth Hospital on Friday, October 24, 2008. Arthur was a raised in Milton and a graduate of Milton High School. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the US Coast Guard. Arthur retired from the Quincy Fire Department as a lieutenant in 1996. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was the beloved husband of Patricia E. (Glover) Johnson. Father of Thomas R. Johnson and his wife Kelli of Norwell and Eric P. Johnson of Easton, grandfather of; Amanda Johnson, Mathew Johnson, Michael Johnson, Edward Crowell, Abigail Crowell and Kelsey Crowell. Brother of George Johnson of Deerfield, IL and Ralph Johnson of Ithaca, NY, also survived by several nieces and nephews. Arthur was predeceased by his daughter Claudia M. Crowell and a brother Wilbur Johnson. A funeral service will be held in St. Andrews Church, Summer Street, Edgartown on Wednesday, October 29, 1:00 pm. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, 4:00 7:00 pm in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Falmouth. Lt. Johnson,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your years of dedicated service and sacrifice-first for our Country when you served in the USCG during the Korean War and secondly for the citizens of Quincy when you served with the QFD. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
