Jean Guertin Obituary

QUINCY Jean Paul Guertin, of Quincy passed away at home on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at age 84. Born in Waterbury, CT, he was raised and educated in Quebec, graduating from MIT in Montreal and Bentley College in Waltham. After settling in Quincy in 1960, he worked as an accountant for the Quincy Housing Authority until his retirement. The beloved husband of Ruth A. (Lunny) Guertin, Jean Paul is the beloved father of Jean Pierre Guertin, James Guertin and Joanne Rice, all of Quincy, Marie Cantelli of Seymour, CA and Violet Guertin of Sebago, ME. He was the loving grandfather of Kristie, Kerrie, Nicholas, Lisa, Ashley, Harold and Alan and great grandfather of Marissa, Anthony and Brandon and is also survived by his sisters Pierrette Lellig of Ottawa and Jackline Boivin of Quebec. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, West Quincy on Wednesday, October 29 at 10:00. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited. Visiting hours are omitted. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center.
