George R. Lund

QUINCY George R. "Bobby" Lund, of Quincy passed away at home on Monday, October 27, 2008 at age 65. Born in Cambridge, he was raised and educated in E. Cambridge and worked for over 20 years as an accountant at the MA Dept. of Education in Quincy and Malden. After retirement George worked part-time for Quincy Auto Auctions. An avid fisherman, he was a former treasurer for the Quincy Yacht Club and was a member of the Quincy Lodge of Elks. The beloved husband for 26 years of Carole L. (Fredrickson) Lund, he is the beloved father of Christine Silva and her husband Tony of Derry, NH, David Lund of Lowell and Jennifer Lund of Londonderry, NH and the loving grandfather of Alexis Silva and Gregory Lund. George was the brother of Marybeth Hardiman and her husband Robert M. of Quincy, Ellen Lund of Revere, John Lund and his wife Patrice of Reading and the late Joseph W. Lund. Son of the late George A. and Elizabeth Lund. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. His funeral will be from the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. (off Hancock St.) Quincy Center on Friday, October 31 at 9:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited. Visiting hours are on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial is at Blue Hill Cemetery.
