James Welch Obituary

PEMBROKE James F. Welch (RET BPD) of Pembroke died on November 5, 2008 at his home in Pembroke at the age of 81. He was the husband of Mary T. (Superneau) Welch, of Pembroke. Father of James A. Welch of Hyannis, Eileen Welch and her husband Paul Twist of Boston, Susan Crothers and her husband Kevin of Pembroke and Lisa Muscato and her husband Jim of Pembroke. Brother of Eleanor Shapiro of FL, Laura Haley of Rockland and the late Richard Welch. Grandfather of 9 and great-grandfather of 8. The family wishes to give their sincere thanks to Barbara Cullity for all her love and support. James was born in Boston, was a member of the Boston Police Dept. for 33 years 1953-1986 was a Navy Vet in WWII and was a member of the Blue Knights. Memorial calling hours will be held on Sunday November 9 from 4-7pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St., (Rte.14 Pembroke Center). Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Monday November 10 at 9am followed by a mass at St. Theclas Church in Pembroke at 10am. Burial will be in Center Cemetery in Pembroke. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cranberry Hospice 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360. For online condolences go to shepherdfuneralhome.com
