Frank J. Hoder

HANSON Mr. Frank J. Hoder, 89 of Hanson died Thursday, November 13, 2008 at the Brockton VA Hospital. The son of the late Alexander and Victoria Hoder, he was born in Rutland VT on December 18, 1918. A decorated war hero and POW, Frank was a Captain in the Army Air Corps, flying B-17s. He was with E Squadron 1377th Army Air Corps, North Atlantic Wing. He was held a Prisoner of War in Germany. He received the WWII Victory Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, the American Campaign and European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal. Mr. Hoder was later employed as a Builder in the Construction Industry. He is survived by 2 daughters, Gail Brown of Hull and Barbara Lewis of Gloucester and 2 sons, John Hoder of South Boston and Jack Hoder of Pembroke. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan St., at the corner of Rte 14 & 58 in HANSON on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
