My Mom (Eulogy)
I want to thank each and everyone for being here and to those who wanted to, but could not be here to join in the celebration of the wonderful life of my Mom, Mary Zielinski
At this moment I know that she is looking down upon us and feeling a bit embarrassed because of all the fuss that is being made here on her behalf because that was just the way she was… Mom never wanted to put anyone out of their way or bother anyone for her sake, yet she would go out of her own way to make a complete stranger feel like the most important person in the world and bring a smile to their face.
Mom always displayed her warm loving smiling while offering a bit of her humor. It is no wonder why she touched the hearts of so many people throughout her life.
Mom always saw the good in others even when there was very little good to be found and she exemplified the true meaning of Christianity by living her life in a loving and caring manner and was always made sure to watch the Daily Mass each day and pray for everyone each night.
Mom’s most cherished possessions in life were her family as she was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always brought us comfort, gave us her love and did her best in raising her children and with 4 kids she did a great job!
Mom made many sacrifices in her own life in order to help or appease someone else and even though she went out of her way, she was always happy that she could be of help.
Mom was a woman of tremendous strength; she would take in whatever pain she or sickness which she was dealt with and without even a wince or any complaints.
Mom’s greatest passion in life was found in the kitchen as she was such an incredible cook. Whether it be cooking a meal of baking one of her many specialties, she was a perfectionist and the best at what she did … and she would always keep a count of how many of whatever she made whether it be 88 brownies, 96 ravioli and if you stopped in to visit her, you couldn’t leave without sampling something she had just cooked or baked and it wasn’t just limited to family members and friends, but to anyone who happened to stop by… a family member, a friend, the mailman, the lawn guy, the oilman, the nurse, it didn’t matter who it was.. and then she would proudly tell you the ingredients and how she made it. And anyone who has ever had the opportunity of trying Mom’s pizza will tell you that it was the best that they have ever tasted.
As her children grew older Mom went to work for the Shawmut bank, where she made many other friends who loved her dearly and with whom she also traded several other recipes to add to her collection. And anyone who had the pleasure of her friendship were always considered to be like part of the family to her because of her genuine love and appreciation of others.
There were many other things which Mom enjoyed as well … she loved music … especially country music, she never missed watching beauty pageants or any of the awards shows, she liked all types of movies but her favorites shows to watch were comedy shows because she loved to laugh and always said “If you can’t find any laughter in life then what good is it?”
I know that there are so many great and wonderful stories that many of us here have about my Mom that would fill a library. My Mom has amassed quite a collection of recipes throughout the years which fills up several draws of handwritten recipes in a many book binders, but of all, the recipes that I have come across there is none greater that this one… and here are the ingredients:
Mix a bit of wonderful humor with a lot of strong compassion and then stir in a great deal of unselfishness and a lot of genuine caring and concern and then top it off with a wave of undying and unconditional love and what you just created was my Mom... Mary Zielinski
Ma, thank you so much for all the love that you have given me and to everyone else who was a part of your life. Thank you for being there whenever you were needed and for never saying “no” whenever your help was needed. And thank you for what you have brought to each individual here today. You lived your life always wanting to do for others and you have touched the hearts of so many people and you will be sorely missed, but you will never be forgotten … you never realized just how special you were and how much you meant to so many people.
Ma, I love you…and yes… you were the best!
Please rest in eternal peace and comfort my sweet angel!

Mary was the sweetest woman I ever met, she was so kind to all, her smile and warm heart will live on forever with everyone she touched and her cooking will never be replaced. It's not what she takes when she leaves this world behind her, it's what she leaves behind her when she goes.
With all our love and prayers

To The Zielinski Family:
I worked for Shawmt Bank, in the Audit Dept. and had the pleasure of knowing your Mom. She was a wonderful lady. Always smiling and always making me laugh when we had "business" together. I will always remember what a kind lady she was. Lorna, I don't know if you remember me but I believe you worked for Shawmut as well. My condolences to all of your family at this time.
