Costanza DelVecchio Obituary

Costanza DelVecchio Quincy Mrs. Constanza (Ricci) DelVecchio, age 90, of Quincy, died Saturday, September 29, 2007 at the Quincy Medical Center after a long illness. She was born in Anversa, Province of Abruzzi, Italy, raised and educated there and immigrated to the United States in 1937 where she has lived in Quincy for seventy years. Mrs. DelVecchio was employed as an assembler for the former Raytheon Company in Quincy for sixteen years and has been retired many years. She also worked as a seamstress in the garment industry and had worked several years at Milton's at the South Shore Plaza. As a young woman in Italy she was a member of the church choir. She enjoyed and was very talented in crocheting. Wife of the late Antonio DelVecchio. Mother of Aldo DelVecchio of Quincy. Sister of Serafino Ricci of Weymouth and FL, Gina Ricci and Enrica Marcelli both of Italy. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School St., Quincy on Wednesday, October 3rd at 10 a.m. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Visiting hours at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy on Tuesday, October 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. For those who wish, donations in Mrs. DelVecchio's memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
