Laura H. Burk Pembroke Laura H. Burke of Pembroke, died December 9 at Bay Path Nursing Home in Duxbury. She was born on July 19, 1905 in Glasgow, Scotland. She was raised in Nova Scotia. She has resided in Pembroke since 1954. She was retired as an office worker for Ocean Spray Cranberry Co. She was a member of many organizations and clubs, including the Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as Worth Matron of the Wampatuck Chapter from 19563-1964, then she became the Deputy Grand Marshall. She was also a member of the Sixteeners Club in Bryantville and was an organist for her church. She loved traveling. She was the wife of the late Robert S. Burk. She is survived by a son, Robert H. Burk of Halifax and a daughter, Janet Forsyth and her husband Bob of Marshfield. She was the sister of the late Jenney Hoffen, Mary Brown and Margaret Balkam. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 13 at the First Church of Pembroke, Center St., Pembroke at 10 a.m. Visiting hours from the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St., Pembroke, on Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1115 W. Chestnut St., Brockton, MA 02301.
