I was saddened to read of Dr. Martin's passing. Although it has been many years since I worked with him at The Corning Museum of Glass, I remember his kindness and dedication and know that his passing leaves a profound void in the world.

I go back 35 years with Dr. Martin. Reading of his death on the web brought back a flurry of memories. I was a student of his at Corning Community College in 1963-4, a million years ago! Dr. Martin, quiet, kind and brilliant, taugt a course in Shakespeare in which I enrolled and he was always available and helpful to me in 'his library', rebellious child of the 60s that I was while at CCC. I can still see his lovely smile. I now live in NYC and am lucky to have had a teacher who helped instill in me needed tools to live in our fast and ever changing world!
