Timothy Green Obituary
Age 28, of Birmingham, AL and formerly of Elmira, NY passed away very unexpectedly Sunday, June 23rd, 2008, in Birmingham. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY Saturday, June 28th, 2008, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Memorial Services celebrating the life of Timothy P. Green will follow the gathering at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the Fitzsimmons Cemetery, Southport, NY. A "Candle of Remembrance" may be left for his family in obituaries at www.olthof.com.

This is truly heartbreaking. Tim was such a precious person. He was an absolute joy to be around, just a bright and shining little presence. I can't imagine never seeing him again.

Like the rest of us, I was in total shock when I heard the news, and in a way, still am. Tim was always such a delight, filling the room with a joyful spirit and wit. I am now being rushed with memories of Tim. I only wish I was able to attend the reunion last summer, to see him again.

Tim was such an awesome person. He was such a good friend to me in high school that he attended my senior prom with me. I have thought about that night often, even now so many years later, and been so amused, remembering it all. Especially my humongous corsage he got me that still makes me chuckle when thinking of it! I think I had the biggest, best corsage there that night and I loved it. I wish Tim and I never lost touch. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Tim's family and close friends. I remember when my sister Melody & I would give him rides home sometime from school and I chatted with him a few times through Concert Choir. This just goes to show you should truly enjoy everyday with the ones you love as if it was your last.

I just recentley met Tim on a company trip to Omaha, Nebraska. From the moment i met Tim, he was very outgoing and of course funny. It is very sad to lose someone so young with so much to look forward to. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and co-workers.

We have been sitting here for several days trying to figure out a way to put all of our love for Tim in a few words. Our lives will never be the same, and I am deeply saddened that our babies will never get a chance to really meet him. Thursday night movies, work, phone calls to IC, and trips to New Orleans will not seem right with out him. We are so glad that we got to know him so well in the time that we had with him. To everyone who knew Timmy, friends and family, our deepest sympathy for all. Our lives were better because we got a chance to know Tim.

Like so many others who posted an entry in this Guest Book, I, too, will remember Tim fondly and often. My grief is tempered by knowing that Tim leaves behind a rare and inspiring legacy of kindness, humor, and loyalty. I am truly blessed to have known him.

Sharon, I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember times of long ago when all of our kids played together; they were times to cherish when Tim along with all of our children were young and we had them close by to us before they had to grow up and spread their wings. I am so saddened to hear about Tim's passing. My memories of him go back to elementary school when he used to pick on my braces, but I'm glad I got to spend time with him at the reunion. He was such fun. You are in my prayers.

tim will be missed greatly. he was my lunch buddy every tuesday. i always enjoyed his conversation. he was intelligent and witty. he was truly a gifted conversationalist. we will all have a part of our heart missing....he really meant alot to the cellular sales family!

My prayers and sympathy go out to the Green family. I was aquainted with Tim for a little more than two years, mostly over the phone. We were long distance co-workers. I will truly miss Tim. The office will never be the same without him. We will miss him stopping by our office making the"many" funny comments he would make on a daily basis. We will also miss all of his comments on our favorite movies and t.v. shows. I'm sorry you had to go, but you'll never be forgotten. We're the paperwork girls-Tim would know what I really mean.

Tim was an extraordinary individual. What struck me most about Tim was how genuine he was. When you were with Tim, you felt like you were the only person around. I'm relatively new to the Cellular Sales family and Tim always made a point to make sure I was welcomed and he epitomized the family feel I associate with the Cellular Sales family. I will always remember the last hug I got from Tim, It was so warm and genuine and made me feel very special and loved. Tim was deerly loved by so many and I consider myself blessed for having known him. My prayers go to Tim's family and his many friends at this most difficult time. May his soul and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace.

It's hard for me to believe that timmy is gone. We were friends in junior high and highschool. I remember both of us having to pass course three math in order to graduate. Luckily both of us did. Hearing about his death saddens me. My prayers go out to his family and all of those whose lives he touched.

Living out of state, when my dad called to tell me the news and asked if I knew Tim, I was utterly in shock. Even though he and I weren't close in HS, we reconnected at our reunion last summer. He even recounted a memory that he’d kept from HS of he and I and doodle-analyzing in French class – I didn’t remember the moment at all, but he did. It spoke to me of a man who took great pride in his friendships and interactions with people, to remember something so mundane. I was personally invigorated by Tim's zest for life and outrageous humor at our reunion. His loss gives me great pause and reminds me, and should to all of us, of just how precious and fragile life really is. He brought great joy to me the last time we were together and I'll cherish it always.
My prayer for you is that God will wrap you and your family in His loving arms as you deal with your loss.

There are so many great things to be said about Tim, but I would not know where to begin. He was a cherished childhood friend and he will be missed emensly. I will always remember that he was my secret Santa when we were kids, and he knew just exactly what to buy for me. I forgot about it until Tim brought it up in conversation when we spoke last year. That was a clear indication that Tim is a sincerly caring person, and a great man. My heart and prayers go out to his family and friends.
