Helen Paszek Obituary

PASZEK, Helen B.
Age 82 years, of Lincolnton, NC, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at the Levin/Dickson Hospice House. She was born April 18, 1926 in Elizabeth, NJ, the daughter of the late Adam and Hedwig Olivia Smolski. She received her education in Elizabeth, NJ, and married Walter E. Paszek May 7, 1949. While residing in New Jersey, she was employed as a Press Operator for the Singer Sewing Machine Company. She and her husband, Walter relocated to the Corning/Hornby area in 1983. Walter predeceased her April 27, 2004. Helen was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of All Saints Parish, attending St. Vincent de Paul Church in Corning, NY, a life member of the Rosary Society in New Jersey, The American Legion Auxillary of Addison, NY, and the Hornby Chapters Group. Surviving are her daughters, Susan (George) Melnick of Hornby, NY, and Donna Graham of Lincolnton, NC; grandchildren, Marc Melnick and Melissa Ovsanik, both of Semonile, FL, and Kristen and Kayla Graham of Lincolnton, NC; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Alexis Ovsanik and Heaven Graham; brothers, Walter Smolski of Whiting, NJ, and Steve Smolski of Seawarn, NJ; also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Stella Bladzinski, Mary Marczak, Sophie Marczak; brothers, Joseph, Peter and Charles Smolski. Funeral Arrangements are incomplete at this time with the Haughey Funeral Home, 216 E. First St., Corning, NY 14830. The family would appreciate Memorial Donations be given in Helen's name to All Saints Parish, 222 Dodge Ave., Corning, NY 14830; or the Levin/Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078.
