Carl Bennett Obituary
Age 84, of Elmira, NY, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2008, at Bethany Manor. He was born on October 3, 1923 in Rome, PA to the late Arthur and Geneva (Granger) Bennett. He was predeceased by his brother, Albert Bennett; and sister, Dorothy Field. Carl is survived by his wife, Augusta (Criss) Bennett of Horseheads; sons, Ronald (Zeola) Bennett of Webb Mills, NY, Bruce (Dawn) Bennett of Elmira, and Steven (Paula) Bennett of Mainesburg, PA; brother, Emery (Margaret) Bennett of Elmira; sisters, Rowena (Jack Simcock) Campbell of Elmira, Blanche Carlin of FL, and Evelyn Altilio of FL; six grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, 11 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. Carl was a member of the VFW and the American Legion Post #154. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, July 8th, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow there at 4 p.m. with Pastor Richard Hack officiating. Interment will take place on Wednesday, July 9th, at 10 a.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery with Full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
