Rose Lovett Obituary
Loving Mother &
Grandmother
Was born August 30, 1948 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late John and Beatrice Keehan passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at the age of 59. She is survived by her beloved sons, Joe Lovett, Clint Lovett and Jeff Lovett, all of Elmira, NY; brother, John (Margaret) Keehan of Elmira, NY; sister, Deb Keehan of Sodus, NY; loving grandchildren, Hannah Kniffen, Kalie Lovett, Emily Lovett, Brock Wilson, Elijah Lovett and Matthew Lovett; along with several nieces and nephews. Her two sisters, Joan Ortega and Joyce Kensley predeceased her. Rose was a devoted caregiver with the Cerebral Palsy & Handicapped Children's Association Of Chemung County, Inc. for many years and loved her work with all of the staff and "her people." Her genuine compassion and dedication to "her people" will never be forgotten. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY, on Thursday, July 10, 2008, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services honoring her life will be held there following the visitation (7 p.m.) Interment will take privately at the convenience of her family. A "Candle of Remembrance" may be left for her family in obituaries at www.olthof.com

We were so sorry to hear about your loss! Can't imagine what your going through I'm so sorry! I didn't get a chance to know her but she raised great kids and that speaks volumes for the type of person she was! If there is anything we can do let us know! I was so sorry to hear of Rose's passing. There are certain people that we meet as we go through life that just touch you in a lasting and meaningful way- and Rose was one of those people.
I have always thought that one of the greatest accomplishments one could have in their lives would be to know that it could be honestly said on one's headstone "She was a good and kind friend to others". That is true of Rose. She passed on that trait to her family as well, so her accomplishments have been and will continue on through each of you. What a gift she was.
Take care and be gentle to yourself, and you know that we care and are here for you.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I cant help but think back to third grade when me and Gretchen would call at all hours of the night and your mom would want to ring our necks, and then getting to know her as an adult. She was so proud of her boys and her grandkids, and was always there for a good laugh when you needed one it was just like she knew something was wrong. Her memories will live on forever in our hearts. She truley was a special lady. Although this is a sad time I feel a little at ease that there is another angel up there looking out for all of us. My heart goes out to all of you. As you know, there are many people who are taking time out to remember Rose, her devilish smile, because she was up to something. Her loud voice that carried across the room or a swat here and there, just because she know it would make you smile. As we are all shedding a tear for her, we are also smiling at the same time, because she has touched our lives. Even though she is gone, we have many memories of her that will live on.
