JABORE, Irene T.
Passed away at the Chemung County Nursing Facility after struggling with cancer on July 11, 2008 at the age of 85. She was born April 10, 1923 in Springfield, PA, and moved to Elmira in 1943 where she has resided ever since. She is predeceased by her husband, Nicholas Jabore; mother, Ina Sawyer; father, Walter Sawyer; and brother, Walter Sawyer, Jr. Irene is survived by her son, Donald Jabore of Fredericksburg, VA; her daughter, Mary Lou Jabore of London, England; niece, Dianne Pint of Elmira; granddaughter, Grace Jabore of San Antonio, TX; sisters, Leona Garrison, Marie Sherman, Bonnie Ritchie; and brother, Thomas Sawyer; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was a self-employed seamstress until the end of May 2008 when she fell ill with cancer. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira on Monday, July 14th from 6 - 8 p.m. A Funeral Service honoring Irene's life will be held after the visitation at 8 p.m. officiated by Lay Pastor John Knapp. Mrs. Jabore will be laid to rest at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Woodlawn Cemetery next to her beloved husband.
