Age 90, of Walden, NY, died Sunday, July 13, 2008, at Columbia Cottage in Palmyra, Pa. Born October 28, 1917 in Athens, Pa., the daughter of Isaiah and Ada Belle Kinner Hunt. Esther is the widow of the late Marvin P. Colgrove. She was a former mail clerk and telephone operator at the Mid Hudson Psychiatric Center, New Hampton, NY and, along with her husband, Marvin, owned and operated Marvin's Restaurant in Elmira Heights. She was a member of the Walden Senior Citizens. She is survived by two sons, Marvin H. Colegrove and his wife, Linda of Newburgh, James E. Colegrove and his wife, Carol of Greenville; two daughters, Valerie Ramsay and her husband, Dean of Palmyra, Pa., Lauren Rockafellow and her husband, Thomas of Montgomery; nine grandchildren, Jason, Seth, Scott, Jennifer, Dana, Devin, Emma, Leslie, and Mark; six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephew. She was predeceased by sister, Elizabeth Hunt; and brothers, Charles and Donald Hunt. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18, 2008, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
